Episode 29: Haul November 12, 2011

Here is a little Haul Video for you all :). I got some fantastic deals today. Don't worry I will be back with more projects very soon, and I did get my Cricut Imagine! So excited.

On a side note, today has made 6 months since my Surgery in May for Acid Reflux and I am pleased to say I am still living a very healthy lifestyle, exercising and have lost 52.4 pounds since May 12th. I am finally feeling like it is all getting a little easier to maintain now so hopefully that means I will be having more time again for my blog and not feeling overwhelmed with things. It really does get easier as the months pass and things become a permanent habit.

Episode 22 - Happy Birthday to Me Birthday Haul

I was able to get lots of great deals with my birthday money, because I had a second shopper with me using double coupons! You can watch the video to see the bulk of what I got. Here are a few pictures of the other goodies I got too!

I grabbed this other double punch set for half off. And then these stardust pens, more foam squares and some embossing powder.

I grabbed this other set of Sizzix Texture plates too. And now I know what the price difference is between Joann's and M's....the ones at M's come with an extra platform and the rubber silicone piece. So that is pretty cool. And these give a nice deep embossing like the cuttlebug folders :).

And I also ordered Emma's two new stamp sets, which I just had to have. I loved some of the sentiments too much not to grab them up.

So today is my actual birthday, and I am spending it in the hospital...but hopefully I am feeling well enough to use my netbook and my new 4G net card to check all the blogs and watch some you tube videos and such! I was born on Friday the 13th at 6:58 am, the time scheduled this post for, in 1977!

Have a great day everyone.

Episode 21 - Fawntastic

Here is this adorable card that I made on video for you all on video. After the video I added the green stickles to each leaf and the bottom of the grass. For this card I took the Scrappy Moms Stamp that said Hope Your Birthday is Poodles of Fun and I put tape over the Poodles of Fun and then used the Fawntastic to go with it. Perfect.

Scrappy Moms Sneak Peak #3 - EPISODE 20

Welcome back for Day 3 of the Scrappy Moms Sneak Peak for Kids Incorporated!!!

As you can see I haven't been making kid related cards, though I probably will before the week is over. For my project today I wanted to show you all how to make this easy version of a Z Fold Window card. I used to make these a bit bigger and double sided, but I decided to simplify this into something that is easier to make and folds into an A2 sized envelope. So I do consider this to be my own original idea, not to say others may not have done something very similar with cards, but I this is a style card I was creating long before I ever started looking at crafting blogs on line.

So here are my cards...

Here are two angles of this one. See how sweet this is? Such a pretty card design and a different style. And the great thing is you could put so many things in the center. You could have cricut cuts, or any punched images too. Anything that fits the opening. You could also be different and do different cut outs rather than the oval. You can really take this card idea and make it your own. I made this card first so that I could get all the sizes correct since I just made up the new sizes and wanted to be sure it worked together first before filming it for you. So then I made another version...

Here is the second one. Look how pretty these colors are too? And how great is that sentiment? I think any friend would love to get a card like this, and on the third panel you have room to write your note to someone. You can watch my You Tube video to learn how to make this card. It is a rather long video, but you can always fast forward through parts of it, but to teach you how to make this, you really need to see it being done and the nice part is that I did not prep anything before hand but the flower, so you really get to see the whole process, and it's a card you can make in about 30 mins or so. So come watch the video and let me know what you think :) Hope you enjoy it.

And here are the sentiments on Kids Incorporated if you haven't ordered them yet, cause I am sure you are going to want to any time now, they are a great set and you can't get any better quality.

Scrappy Moms Sneak Peak #2 - Episode 18

Hi everyone, I am back with Day Two of the Scrappy Moms Stamps Sneak Peak for Kids Incorporated. Scroll down to my previous post for the details or you can just visit their website for all the details!

So here is my second project!!!

So here is my card. It is 5.5x5.5 and I did some fun layering with my water and created a little ocean/sky scene. I thought it would be so cute to have a whale blowing bubbles to go along with this sentiment. I think it is so cute. I got the whale from Life is a Beach and love how cute he turned out. I made the bubbles 4 layers thick and then used glossy accents on it! For more details about my project you can click on the you tube video here and watch it :).

Hope you enjoy, stay tuned for another project on Saturday!!!

Scrappy Moms Sneak Peak # 1 -Episode 17

I am SOOOOO SOOOOO SOOOOO excited to be the Guest Designer for Scrappy Moms Stamps for the month of March! I was over the moon excited when Tammy and Mel told me they were going to start in March having a Guest Designer each month and they wanted me!!! I love their stamps. If I had my way I would already own ALL their sets, but I have to just buy one at a time. I also think they are both such great ladies, so friendly and sweet! Thank you SOOOO much for asking me and letting me join the rest of the design team for this month!

So here is a glimpse at the brand new set, Kids Incorporated, which I have been playing around with.

Here is my first project...as you can see it isn't kid related at all. That is the great thing about Scrappy Moms Stamps, they are so easily used for all sorts of projects. I don't have any kids and I don't make much kid related items, but I love this set because some of them can be used for other events and also when I do need to make cards for kids, I know right where to come for some great sentiments.

You can already purchase this wonderful set of stamps at the Scrappy Moms Stamps Blog!!!

Here is my first Sneak Peak...

As soon as I read this sentiment I started to envision a happy couple dancing under the night sky, and I like to picture a romantic man saying this to his woman. I cut the couple from Sweethearts and boy was that some intricate work. I don't think I have ever worked with layers that tiny before! I have always seen people just use the black base before in projects, but never with all the layers made. I wanted the grass to be bright green to really contrast against the night sky. I also wanted the splash of color in their clothing to really make them pop! The moon came from Create a Critter and the starts are from a Fiskars Punch. I decided to do heat embossing for the sentiment, using my Versamark and white embossing powder. Love how that turned out. This is such a romantic card.

Here is a You Tube Tutorial I made of the card, I know it's a bit long, but that always seems to happen to me. You can always fast forward parts that don't interest you.

I'll be back tomorrow with even more sneak peaks as well as my Flaunt it Fridays Post!!! Hope you enjoy!

Episode 15 - Birthday Card - Have a Dino-mite Day!!!

Here is a super simple card that I made on video for you all. I am entering this into the Scrappy Moms Challenge for this week, which was to use Create a Critter. On the inside of the card I used the sentiment from their Amusing Animals that says "Have a Dino-mite Day" You'll just have to watch the video to see that :).

Hope you all enjoy.

Episode 14 - Birthday Card - Joy Fold Cupcake

So this video went a little long, I apologize in advance. I don't edit my videos so what you see is what you get, LOL. I wanted to make a card which really showed the process I go through and so I didn't pre atg everything and all that which I have done in the past to get my videos down in time. So if you get bored fast forward through parts that don't interest you. After I was all done, my card got tilted while drying and the glossy accents made a total mess. So needless to say I stripped the whole cupcake off and threw it out and made a new one, with glossy accents and stickles all over again! LOL. Oh well. Hope you enjoy. And here are pics of the finished card.

For all the sizes you'll just have to watch the video ;).

Also welcome to all of my new followers :). It is so nice to have you...and there is still another day to get in on the blog hop I had over the weekend as well as my So Saturday Challenge #3!
