Sensational Scenes Blog Hop!!!

Welcome to the...

Sensational Scenes Blog Hop!!!

This is my very first time hosting a blog hop. I really love to use scenes in my projects and I thought it would be so fun to have an entire blog hop devoted to it!!!

I have asked 12 other bloggy friends to join me and I hope that you enjoyed all their blogs and projects along the way!

So you should be joining me from Lauren from Lauren's Creative. She is super talented and has such fun projects on her blog.

If you are stumbling across this blog for the first time, and want to join in the hop from the start then you can visit Momo at Made by Momo. She is an awesome crafter and has over 100 videos too!

So to finish out the hop here is my project.

I made a 12x12 Quilled Art work for my aunt. This is what she requested. I enjoy quilling sometimes, and it really makes beautiful framed art, but I also love to combine quilling with my cricut cuts. I bought some nice thick textured blue card stock from Michael's for the sky. For the grass I used my Martha Stewart Punch. I love that punch. And scene lover should get it. The tree was cut from Serenade at 8 inches. I cut it twice and then snipped off half the leaves and so you get the two toned look. All the clouds were from Create a Critter. I stitched them with a blue gelly roll pen. The tulips are quilled except for the straight stems that I cut as an 1/8 inch strip of paper. The sun was quilled and then I put the yellow gems all the way around. And then the butterflies which are from a Martha Stewart Punch too. I used the gems for the head and the middle section. I also propped up their wings, which in the frame you won't really see that at all! This will be framed in a 12x12 shadow box frame!!! Here are some close up views.

Now for the fun part!!! Two of the ladies in our blog hop have generously donated a set of their stamps for a give away for this hop!!!

They are Tammy and Mel from Scrappy Moms Stamps!!! Just click the link to their website and it shows all of the stamp sets that they have available for purchase! The winner will receive a stamp set of their choice. Isn't that totally awesome? I hope you all join me in thanking Tammy and Mel. Their stamps are the best and they stamp incredibly well and they are very creative.

In order to be eligible to win the stamp set you must visit each blogger along the way on this hop and leave them all a comment as well as leave a comment here on my post telling me what you enjoyed about this hop, and which stamp set you would choose from the Scrappy Moms and why!!! I will draw a winner at random on Tuesday. Be sure to leave me your email address too so I can reach you! You do not have to follow my blog, but of course I would be honored if you did!!!

I hope you all enjoyed the blog hop.

Quilled Art Work - 12x12 Pink Tree and Grass

Ever since I made the Pink Tree of Pearls card last week I have been dying to make a 12x12 quilled artwork like it. This time rather than using brown and cream colors I used black for the tree and the mat. It really stands out that way and will look nicer in the black shadow box frame. I just adore this abstract look of having the tree in pink...I really really hope someone loves it and wants it! I love to think of my artwork hanging in someone's house getting enjoyed by so many. I am really in love with this one. Next I want to make one with an olive green tree bark/branches and then dark purple and light purple leaves against a white background. I think that will be pretty. Hope you enjoy!

Quilled Art Work - 12x12 Framed Tree with Grass

Here is another quilled artwork I made to frame in a shadow box frame. This time I went for the Olive Green color and this cute tree from Serenade. The grass is from my Martha Stewart Punch. I love how this one turned out. To make the leaves I had to use 22 inches of paper and roll them out for the largest size circle on my template board, but I just love how they turned out. What I love is even looking at this from across the room, it really stands out and looks classy. I can't wait to see if anyone likes these at my craft show. I hope so because I am going to spend a bundle of money on the frames for everything and I don't want to be stuck with them LOL. Hope you enjoy.

Quilled Artwork - 12x12 Framed Tree Scene Bright Green

I enjoy making Quilled Artwork to be framed and hung on walls. I just think quilling is so pretty and looks amazing in Shadow Box Frames. If you click on my Artwork Label on the side bar you can see some of the more quilted style quilled artwork I have made in the past, but now that I have had my Cricut, I can do so much more artwork with quilling added. This week I focused on tree scenes. This is one of three trees artwork I have made this week. Stay tuned for the rest.

This pretty tree came from Serenade at 10 inches. I cut the bark/branch cut twice to make it pop up more. For the quilling I just figured out what size circle I needed and then relaxed and did those while watching tv. This is going to look really stunning framed and I hope that someone loves having it in their home. I am planning to have this one for sale at my craft fair. In reality this is pretty easy to make, but a little time consuming. I enjoy quilling though and find it relaxing to sit and curl paper, and then turn it into amazing art.

Hope you enjoy!

QAW0007-8x8 Yellow/Red

This is a really awesome piece of art work. I tried something totally different together and I think that yellow goes nicely with this deep maroon color. The overlapping strips of paper make a decorative frame for the center piece. Little curls decorate the outline and then there is the one really fancy accent in the center.

This closer view more accurately shows the colors and the quilling. It is hard to get the camera at a great angle to show the whole piece without a glare.

This closer view of the center accent allows you to see it in more detail. I really love how this one turned out and I hope that someone will loving having it hang in a shadow box frame in their home!

QAW0006-8x8 Pink/Green Flowery Artwork

I made this art work over the weekend, on a Sunday evening. I wanted to try a new design. First I cut the strips of pink and green paper for the back ground and I stamped the pink paper. I love how the color of the stamping matches the darker green paper while at the same time provides a really pretty pattern for the pink paper. The lighter green with white accent it nicely and make my quilled elements pop out better.

For the flowers I wanted smaller ones and then the two large more artistic accents. I really think it makes the flower so pretty when you add the little scrolls with the pink flower coming off of it in each direction. I bet just that element would look beautiful as coasters. I have to try that sometime.

Here is a closer view of the element. Isn't it beautiful??? I love it. I really take my time and try to be very meticulous with these projects. It also is something to work on when I am watching tv and keeps my hands busy. I trim the strips ahead of time and then curl and glue and shape away! How fascinating how you can turn paper into art work.

I hope whoever ends up with this piece really enjoys it as much as I enjoyed making it!

QAW0005-12x12 Violet Flower Quilled Art Work

This may very well be my favorite Quilled Art Work yet. I just LOVE this design and the violet flowers. I love the arrangement I made for the center. It really stands out across the room. I hope someone is going to love having this one hanging in their home.

QAW0004-12x12 Yellow & Blue Flower Quilled Art Work

This one is a lot of fun. Bright and Springy and Sparkly. It will look very lovely in a shadowbox frame hanging on someone's wall!

QAW0003-12x12 Quilled Artwork-Purple/Green Flowers

This is my first 12x12 Quilled Art Work. These flowers took me hours to make. 7 Quilled Circles per flower. I love how the pattern turned out by alternating the colors this way. And I LOVE these colors together.

QAW0001-8x8 Quilled Artwork-Butterflies

I LOVE this one. Another piece of artwork to frame and try to sell. I really like this printed paper. The nice thing about using papers on these 8x8 quilted type of artwork is that the paper goes a long way. the two tone butterflies are a really nice touch, going opposite directions. I am going to have a lot of fun making these. I quilled the butterflies tonight during Grey's Anatomy commercials.

This is the second piece of art work I made to frame. I really love the quilted look it has and it's going to look great in a frame. Love these positive words too!

Quilled Art Work-Tulips

One thing I wanted to get into with the Quilling is making pieces of art to hang on walls in frames. I started with this 8x8 scene because I know I can get an 8x8 shadow box picture frame very easily. I love the 3D aspect of this and the nice bright tulips. This was my first time making a sun and I think I did a GREAT job. I absolutely love the two tone small butterfly and my bumble bees. The layered grass with the white fence gives it some dimension too. I am very happy with this. It took me just about 4 hours to make from start to finish! I wonder if I am going to sell this or gift it!
