Two Twinkle Twinkle Baby Cards

Here are two totally adorable baby cards that I made using my new Formal Occasion cartridge. I have wanted this cartridge for MONTHS and held back on getting it. I love the little scenes in it and the carriage and such...but anyway, I was going to go purchase some Imagine Ink on sale for Black Friday when I realized that Cricut Rewards has each of them for 500 points, and I was lacking 70 points because I had used my large accumulation of points earlier in the spring so I ended up figuring it made more sense for me to go purchase this cartridge on sale for 24.99 and get the missing points, than to purchase the inks. So now I have the cart I have been wanting and I will use my points soon for free inks!!! Anyway back to my cards. I just took one of the little scenes and made it into a shape card. I embossed and used Perfect Pearls spray on the clouds. I outlined the moon with my Stardust pen and then did the stitch lines with it too. I did not care for the stars that cut with this, so I just punched my own out with two punches. I stuck a bow to a button to give it an added touch and added a little bling on my stars. Inside I wrote, "Congrats on Your New Addition". Love these cards.

Just Because Card - You're my Cup of Tea

As soon as I saw this cut on Kate's ABC's I knew I had to make this a shape card and use that sentiment from Scrappy Moms. It just goes perfectly. I decided to use my favorite color, purple, for this...but I think it would look awesome in red, white and yellow too. I ended up cutting the end of the spoon to make it a little shorter when I packaged it. It was only a quarter inch from fitting 5x7 so I decided to snip it and round it off with scissors. I did put the spoon on pop dots so it appears raised up, as well as the sentiment. I love all the extra little doodling I did to this one to make it stand out more. Hope you enjoy.

Wedding Card - Love is in the Air

Here is the other Frame Card I made. This time I used paper that had bells on it and I made a silver bell set from Sweethearts to match it. Turned out so cute. I love the sentiment I chose from Scrappy Moms. I thought I would pick a little different sentiment. I really really adore this style card, and it makes for a very elegant card for a wedding.

Wedding Card - Sweethearts Frame Card

So I was watching Janice at Cricutology.blogspot.com and she made a video of a frame card she had made using this couple from Sweethearts, and I was so inspired by it that I had to make my own version. This was the first one I made. I had to weld this shape from Storybook. I combined a sentiment from Scrappy Moms and one from My Pink Stamper. I just love how this turned out! Perfect for a wedding. Fun Card - Party Time Tropical Drink!

So...this card turned out so cute...and I am so sorry because I was going to make this on video, and I was half way through with it when I realized that my battery had died in my camera...so that was that. I decided to just finish the card. Maybe one day I will make another one on video. I think Momo made a card similar to this before, but I don't think it was from the Life is a Beach cartridge. I welded this in my Gypsy and then started putting it together. I sponged some brown ink onto the front of the coconut as well as went over the etch lines with my sharpie marker. I used the new Bakers Twine from Scrappy Moms around the card front and it turned out awesome. I made the little tag myself and put an eyelet through it, and then just used the twine to tie the tag to the card. I also popped the umbrella up. For the stick part of the umbrella there isn't a layer that cuts, and I didn't want it the same color as the coconut so I colored it black with my Sharpie to match the umbrella. All in all this card turned out so great. It fits a 5x7 envelope! Hope you enjoy!

Flaunt It Fridays - Tweetie with HUGE Lips Shape Card

For this week Flaunt it Fridays we had to use the lips from Indie Art. I was really stumped. Finally I thought that I would make a huge set of lips for a critter and put them on an action wobble. So I chose this little tweety bird. I made the lips extra big and put them on the wobble. I used the biggest googly eyes I had. I added some ink for some blush and some glossy accents for the lip gloss and some stickles for eye shadow. I think my birdie matches the sentiment...she looks a little crazy for sure. I used the little beak as a nose. I made this card in my gypsy.

This should fit a 5x7 envelope.

Birthday Card - Flaunt it Friday Strawberry Lemonade

Welcome to week three for Flaunt it Fridays!!! This is my project for this time around. We were asked to make something using the lemonade glass and lemon from Simply Charmed. As soon as I saw this selection I knew I wanted to make a shape card. So I got my lovely Gyspy out and got to work. I welded the glass and then added another top layer so that you can't see that. I love to drink Strawberry lemonade so I decided that I had to make some. I took my Cherry Staz-On ink and dabbed it with a tissue then swirled it across my lemonade to give it that strawberry swirl. I decided to add some strawberries and I chose this one from Country Life. The only thing is that the strawberry had some extra layers I didn't find necessary and I eliminated them. Instead I cut the base in the green paper. I took the top red layer and I copied it and then I made the black layer just by hiding the contour on all the little seed cut outs. This way you can eliminate all those extra layers. I found it pretty easy. I knew I had to have a strawberry and a lemon wedge hanging off the rim of the glass so I made my own lemon wedge just using a circle maker and a little creativity. I just love how this card turned out and I topped it off with a Scrappy Moms Stamp which I love from their new set Simple Sentiments!

Birthday Card - Beehive and Bee Shape Card

Look at this cutie!!! I am so in love with my Gypsy now. As soon as I was flipped through my carts on there and saw this bee hive I knew I had to make it into a shape card and add the adorable Bee from Create a Critter. Look how cute this is. I made the height of this so it fits in a 5.5x5.5 envelope. I just welded it but from the front you can't see that because I put the entire front over the welded front. The bee is darn cute. I added black stickles to her black parts and pink stickles to her wings and cheeks. I added some bling and silver stickles to each of the flowers. The flowers were an accessory or layer on another Create a Critter button, I just can't remember which. I used my black Micron pen to stitch all around the bee hive and the bee and that just gives it an added touch and makes it stand out more. I used black Staz-on ink for the sentiment. That is my favorite so far. I really love making shape cards and now with the Gypsy I can do it so much easier!!!

New Home Card - Very FIRST Gypsy Card!!!

Awesome news....as my readers know I have been working my tail off for a craft fair that was yesterday. I mean I really was spending nearly all my free time the past many many weekends making as much as I could. I am really proud to say that it went very well, and even considering I had the worst location at the craft fair, I did great! I made enough to get my Gypsy finally and I even have some money left to do other things with. I feel very happy about this. The mini notebooks I was making were a HUGE hit. I had 102 with me and came home with maybe 10. Other than that I sold cards, lots of cards. None of my quilled art work sold at all but I will list it on Etsy...and I can always use it for gifts now that it is all framed nicely.

Anyway...I came home and I played with my Gypsy...first I had to update it and all that jazz. Then I watched all 9 of Christina's videos on the Gypsy Series at www.creationswithchristina.com. I highly suggest you watch her videos. Just go to her blog and click on video series and then you will see her Gypsy Series. Once I watched all 9 I pretty much know how to do everything I need to do on my new toy! I love it, and I am grateful for her video!

So onto my first Gypsy card. Some of you know I had made shaped cards without a Gypsy by creating my hinges, but of course being able to do it with welding is much better. So I decided my first card would be a shape card. I used this little house from Create a Critter, from one of the accessory buttons. I just love it. I made it to fit a 5.5x5.5 envelope. I welded and the two houses together, hid the contour on the back side of the house so it wouldn't cut out the etch marks. Then I cut another front of the house so there wouldn't be the flat side. I cut another house without the etch marks and just trimmed the side off to go onto the inside layer. I did the layers so I hid some of the cuts with the hide contour so that I could get my roof a different color and the heart and so forth. It was so stinking easy to lay these pieces on the mat and know exactly where they would cut. I love that. No more messed up sizes.

I made some punched out flowers for the window box, and I placed the white paper on the inside so that the window would appear white from the front. I drew the black lines there. Then I felt that it was missing something around the window, to make it prettier, so I just punched using my normal hole punch a whole bunch of circles and glued them around the window...I LOVE how that turned out. It just makes the window pop to me. The roof I felt needed something too, so I cut those thin strips of pink paper and attached it and then just used a lot of pink bling to further decorate it and a little stitching with my white gel pen. For my sentiment I just wanted it on the pink paper and I added that beneath the window.

On the inside I added a gift card pocket. I like the light pink house layer inside to make the back of the card more sturdy. I really adore how this turned out and I cannot believe how easy it really was. I hope you enjoy....

Just Because Card - Thinking of You Birdhouse with Flowers.

Okay, I am totally loving this card. I adore purple and I love it matched up with green. I also enjoy making shape cards sometimes. The green patterned paper is from the DCWV Nursery stack, but it goes so nicely with this darker green and the two purples. I am going to soon make a video showing how I weld these cards together since I don't have a gypsy or design studio. I had a request for a video showing how to make the gift bag card, so once you see how I do it you can apply it to other shapes too. Anyway back to this card. I really wanted to accent the birdhouse to I used dark green for the roof cut, then I added thinner strips of the light purple to it. Then I added those two toned flowers with the gemstones. I love how that turned out. I used my Versamark for the sentiment and then used white embossing powder. I even used a dryer sheet on my paper but for some reason little bits of the powder still stuck to the paper. Oh well. I love the stitch lines I added, gives it a nice touch. The two birdies are so cute. I decided to cut their legs off and make them look like they were just laying there. I used glossy accents on their wings, flowers and beaks. I love this card so much. Birthday Card - Purple Gift Bag with Butterfly

I loved the other shape card I made using this gift bag from Create a Critter so much that since it sold, I wanted to have another on hand. I chose purples this time. I actually made this for the Creative Scraps Challenge but wasn't able to post it on time even though I made it Thursday night, but that is okay because I love it anyways. I kept it quite simple using some printed ribbon I have at the top and the bottom. Many times I like to stamp my sentiment then mat it to make it stand out more. Also I get nervous stamping directly to my paper of the card sometimes. The butterfly I've used a hundred times in the past, it is one of my favorite punches. Well worth it. It is one of the few things I have paid full price for, but with a coupon anyone should get it. I added some stickles to the butterfly and the hearts. Very pretty. I built a gift card pocket into the inside. Hope you all enjoy.

Get Well Card - Mouse and Cheese

Look how cute this is! My aunt loves Mice and she has been going through a rough time with her back and needs surgery this week. I wanted to make her a get well card! I decided to use Create a Critter and I just love this mouse. The wedge of cheese I decided made a perfect shape card. Since I don't have a gypsy or design studio I had to weld it together myself. I went the biggest size the baby bug allows. This mouse is so darn cute too! I put glossy accents on its nose and whiskers. I just love how this card came together and I can't wait to see what my aunt thinks of it. Hope you all enjoy!

Diaper Bag Special Delivery Card

I love how this card turned out. I cannot take credit for the idea though because I got this idea from Sarah at Live Love and Scrap. She made an adorable card like this for a challenge Momo had going on a few weeks back. I just had to try my own version. I used this adorable printed paper and tied in a few of the colors to make my bag. I don't have Design Studio or a Gypsy so I had to weld my card by hand. That is what the pink thing is that you can see at the left edge. This card is so totally adorable and I am sure someone is going to love it as much as me. I love how there is a real pocket to slide things into. Hope you enjoy.

Birdhouse Shape Card

This is just a little birdhouse card I made last weekend using my Cindy Loo Cartridge. I just wanted something without a sentiment that I could use for whatever. And this birdhouse turned out super cute. I love the colors and the accents! What do you think?

Happy Birthday Gift Bag Card

I am really in love with this cute card! How cute is this?!? I was playing around with my Create a Critter and spotted this accessory. I think it is on the worm button. I thought to myself that this would be a great one for me to make a shape card. It has a nice straight edge and since I don't have Design Studio or Gypsy I need a nice straight edge to make it work. I cut this gift bag at on the 5.5 inch size using the Real Dial Size Button. I wanted to use this ribbon which is what really inspired the rest. The colors I chose go perfectly with it right down to the quilled flowers. I love to accent with bling and in this case it really gives it a nice touch. The black Staz-on ink turned out to be a darker shade of gray on this silver paper, but I still love it. The inside has a gift card pocket too. What a cute and adorable classy simple birthday card to give to someone! I haven't tested this in an A2 envelope yet so I may be hand making one to fit it! Hope you all enjoy!
