I want this blog to INSPIRE your CREATIVE side as we EXPLORE our PASSION together!

About Me

My name is Christina Brooks.  I am 33 years old and currently live in central New York State.

I have always been creative and enjoyed making things since I was a child.  In high school rather than take study halls I took Creative Crafts and Wood Shop in order to explore my crafty side.  I have always loved greeting cards and giving them to people as well as receiving them.

I started to scrapbook about 7 or 8 years ago and made many beautiful albums, but then lost interest in it as I don't plan to have children and it seemed silly to have closets full of albums I won't be giving to anyone.  My greeting card making started during my time scrapbooking...at first I would just make a card for a family member.

Then about a year and a half ago, I decided I really missed paper crafting and I wanted to get back at it, but I knew that my direction would be with card making and perhaps other fun paper crafting ideas.  I have done a ton of cards in the last 18 months and expanded my skills.

A few months ago I decided to turn my hobby into a part time business and began selling cards.  I just feel there is nothing better than a hand made card and those out there who are not crafty or don't have the time to make cards, might appreciate being able to buy cards that are hand made and unique.

A few months ago I began quilling and that is a new favorite of mine.  I find it amazing what can be made with just a few simple tools and the possibilities are endless.  Quilling takes a substantial amount of time longer to do than just crafting with die cuts and punches, but sometimes I think it is worth the time invested.

I've also recently started to stamp.  I am not into stamping as a hobby or making cards primarily by stamping, however I do enjoy stamping to accent my cards.  I have tried to find stamps so far that I can use to make my own background printed papers.  I think soon I am going to invest in some phrases to use on the fronts of my cards or stamps that have little poems or sayings for the inside.

I've only very recently gotten the cricut machine as a late birthday present from someone special.  I am in love with it.  I have a list of cartidges that I own on my side bar.  I am really enjoying playing with it and can already see what a lovely tool it is going to be for my card making and how easily it can accent my quilling...or my quilling can accent things I have done on the cricut.  I am also already a cricut freak and can't wait to get the Expression and a Gypsy.

I am a bargain shopper.  I try to buy my craft items only when they are on sale or I am using my coupons.  I do consider myself very fortunate to have so many great tools and materials at my disposal.  One thing is for sure, when it comes to crafting there is always a list of items I really want next.  I just have to be patient.

I am looking forward to getting to know other bloggers and crafters and sharing experiences with you
