Happy Birthday Mom-Owl!

I LOVE this card. So much so that I almost can't stand to part with it...except I made it for my mother for her birthday. She's actually turning 50...but I opted not to spell that one out on the card. I just love the colors here. The owl looks amazing in yellow, pink and brown with its sparkly eye shadow and toe nails! So cute!!! I love the added touch of the flower that I put on her! I made the "MOM" using the Storybook with the shadow feature too. The letters really stand out. I double matted them. The ribbon is my other favorite part of this card. I got this ribbon border punch a while back on 40 percent off but hadn't used it yet. This size mat is the perfect size to punch and get the one left over slot in the center. So I used two separate pieces of ribbon. I started out the outer end and wove it through and then came out that center slot with the long piece. I left a little short piece on the out end that I used ATG and stuck it behind and you can't even tell. So I repeated that on the other side and then had two long strands of ribbon to tie together to make my bow. Looks awesome. It is a nice change and gives the ribbon a totally different look! The yellow paper I embossed with a cuttlebug folder but I don't remember the name of it. I love the pattern it gives though. Whenever I emboss I try to leave a decent amount of the paper showing so you can actually enjoy the pattern. I made sure to leave the bottom portion of that yellow paper sticking out of the folder so I could use that punch on it. Inside this card is lined with pink paper and then a small yellow piece in the corner and a brown stamped Happy Birthday. I think my mom will love this card. I also made a matching yellow envelope. Ugh...now I have to part with this little cutie!!!
