QAW0007-8x8 Yellow/Red

This is a really awesome piece of art work. I tried something totally different together and I think that yellow goes nicely with this deep maroon color. The overlapping strips of paper make a decorative frame for the center piece. Little curls decorate the outline and then there is the one really fancy accent in the center.

This closer view more accurately shows the colors and the quilling. It is hard to get the camera at a great angle to show the whole piece without a glare.

This closer view of the center accent allows you to see it in more detail. I really love how this one turned out and I hope that someone will loving having it hang in a shadow box frame in their home!

Very pretty center piece :) Do you cut the paper strips using razor blade and ruler or do you have a special tool for that? Your cards are very neat! :)

Azlina,

Thank you so much for the comment. I am really enjoying making these art works. If they don't end up selling I may have a house full one day hehehe. I love this center accent too!

I use a rotary paper trimmer. It's more pleasant than your razor and ruler old method, but still a total pain. I am also looking into hand crank paper shredders to make this easier for me.

I cut hundreds of strips this weekend to have with me when I am away in July and it took me so long and made my neck and shoulders hurt. I need a hand crank paper shredder too! I think I am going to order one when I get paid this week.

I agree that cutting is the worst part of quilling. Right now I am just quilling pieces to use later, I have a little bin full now. It's easy to do when I a just watching tv and makes card making process faster when elements are ready.

You need to experiment with butterflies soon. They are easy to make and oh so pretty!

Hello Christina!

Yes...you really need to get yourself that paper shredder to help ease the pain of quilling. It really does help me a lot now. I really hope you'll be able to get one soon. :)

Butterflies? Yes! I would love to make them soon. The ones you make here are so cute! And very neat too! :)

I really think you should sell them. Advertise your blog to other bloggers or you can create a page in Facebook to advertise your quilled cards there like I did. There are 450 million people in Facebook now. I'm sure you can get a lot of orders when you create a page there. It'll take time but slowly but surely you'll make it big! Good luck!!
