Red Quilled "Love You" Flower Card
I just made this pretty card last night. I just love reds and yellows together. I wanted to make a simple quilled flower with a couple of leaves. I placed the strip of grass over the base of the flower stem and then added my flower at the top. I am going to give a quilling demo on video soon, since a few of you have asked for that. I enjoy quilling...it is unique and pretty and not to mention a very inexpensive accent! I much prefer the look of a quilled flower to a prima flower. I have never used a prima flower in fact.
I just learned something today in reading on the net, that pretty much any pigment ink can be used for embossing. I didn't know that!!! I thought you could only emboss with the embossing ink that is basically almost clear. So...this now means I can emboss with all my colorbox inks as they are pigment. Hooray! I am excited. I played around with it tonight, and it looks awesome. I stamped the "Love You" in my cranberry colorbox ink and then put clear embossing powder over it and heated it up! And not only did it make it look even more vibrant, but it is embossed and smear proof! Perfect. I think I will be embossing all sentiments done with my colorbox inks now. I am so excited about this because they were taking forever to dry and then at times would still smear on me.
The little pearls in the center of this are a nice touch. I just love this quilled flower and the card is quite simple but really stands out I think.
Hope you enjoy, and hopefully I can try shooting a video this weekend. The one from last weekend was a total loss!
