Wednesday Guest Designer for My Creative Time :)

I am so honored that Emma asked me to be her Guest Designer for this week for her website, My Creative Time!!! Emma is a really sweet lady and she also has a great and very expansive set of stamps on the market that she has created and designed, both sentiments and images and she also has her own line of dies now too!

Emma said that I could design any project using any of her stamp sets that I wanted to. I just got her Encouraging Quotes set in the mail last week and decided to get busy creating with it. As soon as I saw this sentiment the wheels were turning in my mind and I was envisioning a card with three scenes, one for the sun the moon and then the stars. I thought that it would be great to have a few constants in the scene and then change the sky color and sun, moon stars.

To make this happen I needed to make my very first long card. I made this card 9x4. It was just big enough for this! I cut each piece of sky at 2.75x2.75 and then the white mat they are on at 1/8th bigger. The trees were done at around 2 inches and the sun and moon around 1.5 inch. The stars are from a punch. The grass as well as the fence are Martha Stewart Border Punches.

I cut the trees from the Sweethearts cartridge but hid all the leaves that it wants to cut for it. I used my Memento and Staz-on inks to ink the sun, the trees and the grass. It does add more texture to it. I stamped the sentiment and matted it. the white strip along the bottom is about 7/8 of an inch and then I used my ribbon and this time I tied two knots because I wanted one on each side of the sentiment to tie everything together. I have never done that before but it looks pretty cool on a long card like this.

You could use this card for so many things, graduation, Best Wishes, Retirement, etc.

If you have never visited Emma please do so, she has lots of great videos and challenges and inspiration pretty much every single day, and she is super sweet and friendly. And if you have never checked out her stamp line head over there and do so, you won't be sorry. Some of her sets are like nothing else I have seen on the market, she has great customer service too! I have several of her sets of stamps now. My very favorite is her Inspiring Words and Inspiring Words Accents with the matching die! It is a fabulous set and so many possibilities of how to match the words together!

Thank you so much Emma for asking me to be a guest designer, I had a fabulous time making this card :)
