This card turned out awesome! I am so pleased with it. I was watching a video from one of my designers/bloggy friends Janice from Cricutology and she had embossed some Kraft paper and then inked over it with Colorbox White Pigment Ink. It gave it such a cool effect. I hardly ever use Kraft, but I thought it was so pretty that I had to try it. So I used my Kraft and the Floral Fantasy Embossing Folder and then the same white ink. Except I decided to emboss mine with clear embossing powder and my heat gun. It gives it a shinier effect and tons of texture. The aqua color scheme went so well with the Kraft and the cream. I kept the design easy because I wanted that awesome design to show up well.
For the sentiment I used two stamp sets and a die from My Creative Time. Emma did a great job with these sets and die that coordinate together. First you use the die to cut the paper for the sentiment. Then you use the outline stamp to stamp the outlined border around it. Then the one set has the Large words and the other set has the Sentiments. It is a fantastic system.
While I was at it I cut enough stuff to make 5 more cards, but with a different sentiment for each, which I assembled into a kit to take to my next Crop Club so I can pack more lightly and then just put them together there.
Stay tuned for my First of the Month Challenges which will post on 8/1/11...and you are really in for a treat. The projects look fantastic!
Also stay tuned for a special post on Wednesday August 3rd!!! I can't wait to share that one with you!
