Bridal Shower Card - Wedding Cake with Quilled Roses
So my cousin is getting married and I needed to make a Bridal Shower Card for her. I decided to make a 3 tier cake and I wanted to incorporate quilling into rather than the rest of the layers that come with that cake cut. The cake is from Sweet Treats and I skipped the layers. I actually cut each of these tiers apart so that I could emboss it with the Swirls and I left the end free for each tier to attach the silver part. Then I just pieced the cake back together and connected it from the back. The silver layers I used on each tier was just the silver platter for under the cake. I liked it because it was just straight across. I needed a nice flat surface to attach all the quilled circles to accent each layer.
I made the spiral roses using a scallop circle from a punch and my scallop scissors and then I quilled it. I added glossy accents to parts of the roses to make them look damp with dew. I love how they turned out. I think this cake is stunning! I am so pleased with it. I love black, white, pink and silver together as it is but this card really pops to me!
I made it as an easel card with a really great sentiment that came from a dollar stamp from Michael's. I also built a gift card holder into the card and left room for me to write a note.
Maybe sometime I will do a video to show how to make these quilled roses. It is so easy! Let me know if you are interested!
Hope you enjoy.
