So over the summer my aunt from Texas was in NY for a visit and she fell in love with my cards and bookmarks and especially my quilling! She is part of a Ya Ya group and when she hosts their get togethers she likes to give each member a little gift and she thought my quilled bookmarks would be perfect. She also wanted three for her grandsons but left me leeway to use the cricut for those. I tried to make a nice variety of colors and types of flowers and quilled butterflies for the bookmarks. Some names I stamped and some I did on the computer. It took me quite a long time to get this order together, doing a little here and there, but she made it clear she wasn't in a rush.
I like a nice thick book mark base, so I start with a 5.5x7.5 piece of paper. I like them 7.5 long. I score then at 2.25 inches in on each side, leaving the width of the book mark to be 2 inches. I use the bone folder for a nice tight crease and I fully adhere each flap as I fold it behind. It gives a nice sturdy base. With the quilled ones I keep the quilling just at the top part because I figure that part can stick out of the book and the rest should be flat. On the little boys ones I did not raise the images so they are just flat.
I hope she loves these all as much as I do. I am sure they will. Hope you enjoy. If you want a tutorial video on these book marks let me know. Hope you enjoy.
