Happy Birthday Owl Card!

So...last night I decided to experiment with my first owl from the create a critter! I also wanted to participate in Crafting with Cristina's Companion Challenge!!! I have seen many owl cards and had not made my own yet. I decided to go with a brown card base and tree branch as well as the base layer of the owl. The an olive green layer and a purple layer. I went with this shade of yellow for the beak and feet...and then yellow as my matting color. I ran the yellow paper through my big shot using the Swiss dots Cuttlebug Embossing Folder. I love that one! I cut the owl at 3 inches and the branch at 4 I think. I decided to quill my leaves for an added touch and more dimension. They turned out nice. I outlined the tree, owl and card base with some gold stitching. Then for the owl I had to make her eye lashes and ears gold. I also felt her eyes needed something else and with her eyes closed, it just made me think how some really pretty glittery eye shadow would look with those cute eye lashes! So I went with a lighter green Martha Stewart Glitter. I just used my Zig two way pen to put the glue where I wanted it. What a cute difference this made. This is definitely a girly owl! I gave each wing one gemstone. Then my last touch was the three flowers with the brad in the center. What a cute happy birthday card this turned out to be! What do you think? Hope you enjoy!
